The internet archive known as the digital library has been hit by a major cyber attack. The website of the US-based Internet Archive, which is popular for saving videos, pictures, books, and documents, can also view decades-old images of various websites through the Wayback Machine. And so many people from different countries of the world regularly use the Internet Archive. As a result of the cyber attack, the e-mails, names, and passwords of more than 30 million users of the Internet Archive were reportedly stolen. Brewster Kahle, the founder of the Internet Archive, also acknowledged the theft of users' personal information.
.About the cyber attack, Brewster Kahle said, this cyber attack was carried out through a Distributed Denial of Service or DDoS attack on the JavaScript code of the Internet Archive website. For now, the Internet Archive website is temporarily closed to improve system and security.
.A group of hackers named SN_BlackMeta claimed to have carried out the cyber attack. The hacker group said the cyber attack was carried out by claiming that the Internet Archive is a US organization. This cyber attack was carried out for five hours.
